Sam Furness -- Lensky
Sam Furness began singing as a chorister at Llandaff Cathedral where he was Dean's Scholar. He then went to Charterhouse school as a music scholar, during which time he became a member of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain and its chamber choir, Laudibus. In 2004 Sam won a choral scholarship to sing in the choir of St John's College Cambridge, from where he gradutated with a BA in theology.
Sam has enjoyed a large amount of solo work with regular oratorio appearances including Mozart Requiem, Bach St Matthew Passion, Britten St Nicolas and Dyson Canterbury Pilgrims.
Sam's previous opera roles include Abinidab in Samuel Hogarth's new opera David and Goliath, Rinnucio in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi and Don Ottavio in Mozart's Don Giovanni with Cambridge touring opera. He is currently working on the title role in Monteverdi's Orfeo, to be performed in Cambridge next year.
